3D Image Mapping

For my 3D imagery poster project, I chose to do child abuse!! I really like that the meaning really gets across in the poster. One thing that I don't like is the colours that we had to use. It was very hard to try and make a person 3D while kind of having to stick to certain colours so that the person isn't 'alien-looking.' If I were to do this project again, and had more time, I would try to add more objects in the background. I had a hard time thinking of what objects would symbolize abuse and could not think of anything!! So that was pretty tricky!!!!

3D Brainstorming...

So I can't think of anything to protest... cause I am not an angry person :)!! Okay so hmmm... things I don't like... Well, I don't like gas prices, global warming, bullying... Child Abuse! Yay that's what i'm doing!!! Okay, so the date's going to say I posted this on September 30th but I actually did this a while ago but forgot to post it... so it sat in my 'drafts' folder!!!

3D Beginner Thing

Soooo,

we had to play around with crayons (or colours on photoshop) to see how this 3D drawing stuff works. We were to use 3 colours and make a simple little picture... this is it!!!
Okay, so goldenrod sits at the bottom, violet-red sits in the middle, and sea green sits on top!!

Environmental Entropy Final Project

ALRIGHTY!!
So this is my environmental entropy project!! So in my image I'm trying to show that we have way to much garbage in our world and that we should find ways to reuse some of these items.... I think that it turned out really well. The objects look really cool in the picture and I really like the background. One thing that I do not like so much is that you may not be able to understand what I was trying to get across just by looking at the image. If I had to do this project again, I think I would try to think of a way to make it more 'understandable.'

Brainstorming for Environmental Entropy

So....
Last night I tried to think of what I should do for this project. My initial thought was to have a top view of a tree stump with lots of cracks and have pictures intertwining through the cracks. I don't think I will do this because I don't think it makes the viewer really think about it.
Now, I want to do a city with photoshopped pictures of what humans seem to value now in today's society.... including money, labels and brands.

Okay.... so I have a new idea now... GARBAGE!!! It's everywhere in our world! It is super nasty! Yuk!!!! So my idea is to make an item out of recycable materials. I am still trying to figure out the background but I want to have like a wasteland for the background or something else like that....

Environmental Entropy Digital Sculpture

Environment:
1. the aggregate of surrounding things, conditions, or influences; surroundings; milieu.
2. Ecology. the air, water, minerals, organisms, and all other external factors surrounding and affecting a given organism at any time.
3. the social and cultural forces that shape the life of a person or a population.
4. Computers. the hardware or software configuration, or the mode of operation, of a computer system: In a time-sharing environment, transactions are processed as they occur.
5. an indoor or outdoor setting that is characterized by the presence of environmental art that is itself designed to be site-specific.
Entropy:
1. Thermodynamics.
a. (on a macroscopic scale) a function of thermodynamic variables, as temperature, pressure, or composition, that is a measure of the energy that is not available for work during a thermodynamic process. A closed system evolves toward a state of maximum entropy.
b. (in statistical mechanics) a measure of the randomness of the microscopic constituents of a thermodynamic system. Symbol: S
2. (in data transmission and information theory) a measure of the loss of information in a transmitted signal or message.
3. (in cosmology) a hypothetical tendency for the universe to attain a state of maximum homogeneity in which all matter is at a uniform temperature (heat death).
4. a doctrine of inevitable social decline and degeneration.

After searching artists that include Robert Smithson, Chris Drury, Christo, Richard Long, Alan Sonfist, Erwin Timmers and Rosalie Gascoigne, I have realized that these artists all use natural materials to create their environmental art. The art that I looked at was very interesting and did what good artwork should do; it made me think. One particular artist caught my attention, Rosalie Gascoigne, because her art really made me stop and think, "What is she trying to get across in this picture," .... Awesome!!
